The 3rd book in the Mace of the Apocalypse series. When all you know is survival and death, Neverland becomes a demented fairytale.
The children fight. The dead thirst. The conclusion is one step closer.
Some rave reviews for Children of the Apocalypse
"Once again, author Daniel J. Williams takes the post-apocalyptic world into a new direction that gives hope that the uninfected will survive. Children of the Apocalypse came out of the gate at full tilt, combining action, danger and even some well-timed humor, and that within only the first few pages. The younger survivors are growing up in a world full of terror, death and fear, where one moment of distraction could cost you your life. Teens with daring and attitude are facing off against the hordes of the infected, yet still feel that hormonal pull of youth. A group of younger children have faced the evils of being slaves to twisted humans and survived; now they are once again on the run, seeking the safety of the compound that houses Mace, Jade and the rest of the survivors. Under the leadership of an eight-year-old genius whose method of coping and rallying the rest of the children is to relate to the childhood fantasy character, Peter Pan, these children travel via school bus, improbable in the world we know, but brilliantly told in the world created by Daniel J. Williams. Who will survive? Are these children the hope for the future or will their emotional scars be their downfall?
Just when you think there cannot be room for one more post-apocalyptic tale, that there cannot possibly be a fresh take, a new slant, along comes Daniel Williams and his gift for writing that pulls you into the story, wrings out your emotions and has you fist-pumping each victory, while watching each scene unfold. Dark, gritty and filled with tension, fallen heroes make room for the heroes of an unknown future to emerge.
For me, each book in this series has dug in deeper to bring the characters and the tale to life, the good, the bad, the moments of tension and the moments of much needed relief. Well done! "

"I am so excited about this series. I have really enjoyed them so far. I have laughed, cried, and screamed a little. The story line is different from other zombie books. It has the usual zombies milling around, then the twist comes after the antidote. It shows how some people might react in a crisis differs from others. It has all the blood and gore as well as love and sex and fear and joy and of course faith. Faith in God and an after life is what keeps them going. and the children will just blow your mind. This one surprised me more than once." - Denise Turner

"This series just keeps rolling! More action, more peril, more of everything! I hate losing characters but understand it needed to happen to get to the end of this tale. The losses made sense in a twisted kind of way although saying good bye to them was a bit difficult. I can hardly wait to see how this wraps up in book 4. Who will survive? Who will grow into the roles left vacant? Will the characters continue to examine their lives and the apocalypse with a view to the greater good? Rock on my friends!" - Suzanne

"I spent most of the weekend reading this book. I was so hooked I couldn't put it down. I love the addition of the new characters. Already reading the next book and I can't wait to see how it ends. This is a great series." - Veronica L. Smith
